Ayurveda is a 5,000-year old system of natural healing that has its origins in the Vedic culture of India. In this workshop you will get to know more about the three types of body constitutions: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, and discover what your specific constitution is. These three constitutions are based on which of the five elements -- earth, water, fire, air, and ether -- is predominant in your body. You will learn about the methods you can use to keep your individual constitution in balance, and what the specific imbalances are for each body type. We will also explore the daily regimes advised in Ayurveda, as well as the seasonal regimes, which will help you choose the right foods and activities in each season.
Rebecca Menashe graduated Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Training in 2000, and an Anusara Yoga Teacher Training with Amy Ippoliti in 2002. She is a certified Holistic Health Counselor from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. In 2006 Rebecca moved to Amma's Ashram in Kerala, India, where she attended Amrita Ayurveda Medical College, a five-year course, which taught aspects of Ayurvedic diet, lifestyle, and Panca Karma.
